Leaky Gut

A leaky gut syndrome is associated with impaired intestinal permeability which may be caused by toxins or substances that have been absorbed into the bloodstream via a porous or leaky colon. Damage to the gastrointestinal lining and mucosal barrier impairs immune response and may manifest as severe conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal infections, and more complex health conditions such as cystic fibrosis, sepsis, and type I diabetes.
